For the Crust:
- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and chopped
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Press pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and sprinkle sesame seeds evenly over the bottom.
- Blanch asparagus in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain and arrange over the crust.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, cheese, herbs, salt, and pepper. Pour over asparagus.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden. Let cool slightly before serving.
