For the Crust:
- 1 (8 oz) wheel of brie cheese
- 2 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add apple slices, brown sugar, and thyme. Cook until apples are tender and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Place brie in the center, top with caramelized apples. Fold pastry over brie, sealing edges. Brush with egg wash.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until pastry is golden brown. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
