Description

A sophisticated dessert or appetizer featuring tender baked pears topped with sweet honeyed figs, crunchy walnuts, and a savory blue cheese crumble.

For the Crust:

  • 4 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
  • 8 fresh figs, quartered
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, toss fig quarters with honey and half the cinnamon. Spoon over pears.
  3. In another bowl, mix walnuts, blue cheese, melted butter, remaining cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt to form the crumble.
  4. Sprinkle the walnut and blue cheese crumble evenly over the pears and figs.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until pears are tender and topping is golden. Serve warm.

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
