For the Crust:
- 1 lb baby bok choy, halved lengthwise
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp water (for slurry)
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Rinse the bok choy thoroughly and pat dry. Halve each head lengthwise if using baby bok choy.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and 1/4 cup water. In another small bowl, combine cornstarch with 1 tbsp water to make a slurry.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add bok choy to the skillet, cut side down, and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly charred. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the bok choy and stir to coat. Bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Transfer to a serving dish, sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired, and serve immediately.
