Description

Creamy burrata served with a vibrant pistachio-basil pesto and crispy puff pastry twists for a delightful appetizer.


Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 ball burrata cheese
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup shelled pistachios
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut into thin strips. Twist each strip and place on the prepared baking sheet. Brush with egg wash and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden and puffed. Let cool.
  3. In a food processor, combine basil, pistachios, Parmesan, garlic, salt, and pepper. Pulse until finely chopped. With the processor running, slowly drizzle in olive oil until a smooth pesto forms.
  4. Spread the pesto on a serving plate. Place the burrata ball in the center and drizzle with a little more olive oil. Serve with the puff pastry twists on the side.

Notes
