Festive, flaky tartlets shaped like Christmas trees, filled with sweet caramelized apples and creamy brie cheese.

For the Crust:
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 4 oz brie cheese, rind removed and cubed
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Coarse sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook until apples are tender, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in caramel sauce and remove from heat.
- Roll out puff pastry and cut into Christmas tree shapes using a tree-shaped cookie cutter. Place on prepared baking sheet.
- Top half of each tree with a few cubes of brie, then spoon caramel apple mixture over the brie. Fold the other half of the pastry over and press edges to seal. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown and puffed. Let cool slightly before serving.
