Description

A rich, savory appetizer featuring buttery mushrooms caramelized with garlic, topped with creamy goat cheese, crunchy pecans, and a spicy-sweet honey drizzle.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb cremini mushrooms, cleaned and halved
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 oz goat cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup pecans, roughly chopped and toasted
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, until they release their liquid and begin to brown, about 10-12 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic and thyme to the skillet. Continue cooking for another 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are deeply caramelized and the garlic is fragrant. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Transfer the mushrooms to a serving dish. Top evenly with crumbled goat cheese and toasted pecans.
  4. In a small saucepan, warm the honey over low heat. Stir in the red pepper flakes and let infuse for 2 minutes. Drizzle the hot honey over the mushrooms and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
