Description

A savory, flaky puff pastry pull-apart filled with caramelized mushrooms and melted brie cheese, perfect for appetizers or a light meal.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 oz brie cheese, rind removed and cubed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add mushrooms and garlic to the skillet. Cook until mushrooms are caramelized and golden, about 10-12 minutes. Stir in thyme, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut into 2-inch squares and arrange on the baking sheet, slightly overlapping.
  5. Spoon a small amount of mushroom mixture onto each pastry square, then top with a cube of brie.
  6. Brush edges of pastry with egg wash. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until pastry is puffed and golden.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
