Description

These savory tarts feature sweet caramelized onions, tangy goat cheese, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze for an elegant appetizer or light meal.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 ounces goat cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). In a pan over medium heat, add olive oil and onions. Cook until they begin to caramelize, about 15 minutes.
  2. Stir in sugar and continue to cook for another 10 minutes until onions are deeply caramelized.
  3. Cut puff pastry into squares, place on a lined baking sheet, and top with caramelized onions and goat cheese. Bake for 15 minutes or until pastry is golden.
  4. Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.
