Description

Flaky puff pastry puffs filled with sweet caramelized pears and creamy brie, shaped like snowflakes for a festive treat.

For the Crust:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 ripe pears, peeled and diced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 oz brie cheese, rind removed and cubed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add diced pears, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook, stirring occasionally, until pears are tender and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Roll out puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Use a snowflake-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Place half of the snowflakes on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Spoon a small amount of caramelized pears and a cube of brie onto the center of each snowflake base. Brush edges with egg wash, then top with remaining snowflake shapes, pressing edges to seal.
  5. Brush tops with egg wash. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until puffed and golden. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
