A stunning and delicious dessert featuring flaky puff pastry filled with creamy custard and sweet cherries, shaped into a beautiful wreath.

For the Crust:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup vanilla custard or pastry cream
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut a large circle, then cut a smaller circle inside to form a ring.
  3. Spread the custard evenly over the pastry ring, leaving a border around the edges.
  4. Spoon the cherry pie filling over the custard layer.
  5. Fold the outer edge of the pastry over the filling, pressing gently to seal.
  6. Brush the pastry with beaten egg and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
