Description

Light, fluffy vanilla squares with a melt-in-your-mouth texture, perfect for a sweet treat.

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  4. Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let cool completely, then dust with powdered sugar before cutting into squares.
