For the Crust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool completely, then dust with powdered sugar before cutting into squares.
