For the Crust:
- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs), thawed
- 2 oranges, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup chicken broth
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Rinse turkey and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper. Rub mixture all over turkey, including under the skin.
- Stuff turkey cavity with orange slices, lemon slices, and cranberries. Tie legs together with kitchen twine.
- Place turkey in a roasting pan, breast-side up. Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
- Roast for 3-4 hours, basting every 30 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part of the thigh.
- Let turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving. Serve with pan juices.
