For the Crust:
- 3 large crisp apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- 1 (8 oz) wheel of brie cheese, sliced into thin strips
- 6 slices prosciutto, cut in half lengthwise
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice each apple crosswise into thin hasselback-style cuts, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- Insert slices of brie into the cuts of each apple, spacing evenly.
- Wrap each apple with prosciutto slices, tucking the ends underneath.
- Place apples on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and honey, then sprinkle with thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until apples are tender and prosciutto is crispy.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle with walnuts if using, and serve warm.
