For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture alternately with milk.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let cool before serving.
