For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup Kalamata olives, pitted and sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp honey
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a small bowl, dissolve honey in warm water and sprinkle yeast over the top. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, basil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Shape the dough into a loaf and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
