For the Crust:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips, melted
- Sliced almonds for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in orange zest and almond extract.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough out on a floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness. Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies and place on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely on a wire rack.
- Drizzle melted white chocolate over cooled cookies and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
