Description

A festive and buttery shortbread cookie infused with orange zest and almond, topped with a drizzle of white chocolate.

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips, melted
  • Sliced almonds for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in orange zest and almond extract.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll dough out on a floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness. Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies and place on prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Drizzle melted white chocolate over cooled cookies and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
