For the Crust:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips, melted
- Sliced almonds and orange sprinkles for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in orange zest and almond extract.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms. Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness on a floured surface and cut into star shapes using a cookie cutter.
- Place stars on prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely on a wire rack.
- Dip cooled cookies halfway into melted white chocolate, then garnish with sliced almonds and orange sprinkles. Let set before serving.
