Description

Elegant, bite-sized appetizers featuring creamy brie coated in crunchy pistachios and drizzled with a sweet fig honey glaze.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 (8 oz) wheel of brie cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup shelled pistachios, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 dried figs, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for frying

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine honey, chopped figs, and water. Heat over low, stirring until figs soften and mixture thickens slightly, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
  2. Set up a breading station: place flour in one shallow bowl, beaten eggs in another, and chopped pistachios mixed with salt and pepper in a third.
  3. Dredge each brie cube in flour, then dip in egg, and finally coat thoroughly in the pistachio mixture.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry brie bites until golden on all sides, about 2-3 minutes total. Work in batches to avoid crowding.
  5. Transfer bites to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Drizzle with fig honey glaze and serve warm.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
