For the Crust:

  • 1 (8 oz) wheel of brie cheese
  • 1/2 cup shelled pistachios, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup fig jam
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for frying

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Slice the brie wheel into 1/2-inch thick rounds.
  2. Set up a breading station: place flour, beaten egg, and chopped pistachios in three separate shallow dishes.
  3. Dredge each brie round in flour, then dip in egg, and finally coat evenly with pistachios.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry brie rounds for 1-2 minutes per side until golden and slightly melted inside.
  5. In a small saucepan, warm fig jam with water and honey over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  6. Arrange brie rounds on a serving platter and drizzle with the fig jam glaze. Serve immediately.
