Description

A decadent tart featuring a buttery crust, rich salted caramel, and crunchy pecans arranged in a beautiful tree pattern.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 cup pecans, halved
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix flour and granulated sugar. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in egg yolk until dough forms. Press into a tart pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, heavy cream, and 2 tablespoons butter. Stir until smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and 1/4 teaspoon sea salt.
  3. Arrange pecan halves in a tree pattern over the pre-baked crust. Pour caramel sauce evenly over pecans. Sprinkle with remaining sea salt.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes until caramel is set and crust is golden. Cool completely before slicing and serving.
