For the Crust:
- 1 lb Italian sausage links, casings removed
- 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and diced into 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the Italian sausage, breaking it into chunks, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove sausage and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the diced sweet potatoes. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and caramelized.
- While sweet potatoes cook, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
- Return the cooked sausage to the skillet with the sweet potatoes. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the mixture and stir to coat. Cook for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
