For the Crust:

  • 1 lb Italian sausage links, casings removed
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and diced into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the Italian sausage, breaking it into chunks, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove sausage and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the diced sweet potatoes. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and caramelized.
  3. While sweet potatoes cook, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
  4. Return the cooked sausage to the skillet with the sweet potatoes. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the mixture and stir to coat. Cook for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
