For the Crust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup tahini
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chopped pistachios
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
- 1/4 cup phyllo dough strips, baked until crisp
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. In another bowl, mix tahini, sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just incorporated. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool completely.
- In a small pan, heat honey and caramel sauce until simmering. Stir in chopped pistachios and crisp phyllo strips.
- Spread the pistachio caramel crunch evenly over the cooled brownies. Allow to set before cutting into squares.
