Description

A soft and fluffy focaccia bread shaped into a ring with a gooey Camembert cheese center, perfect for sharing.


Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 500g strong white bread flour
  • 7g instant yeast
  • 10g salt
  • 300ml warm water
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 round Camembert cheese (250g)
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp sea salt flakes
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, yeast, and salt. Make a well in the center and add warm water and 2 tbsp olive oil. Mix to form a sticky dough.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  3. Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan). Punch down the dough and shape into a ring on a baking tray, leaving a hole in the center for the Camembert.
  4. Place the whole Camembert (in its wooden box if safe for oven use) in the center. Brush the dough with remaining olive oil and sprinkle with rosemary and sea salt.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden. Drizzle with honey if desired. Serve warm for tearing and dipping into the melted cheese.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
